Saying goodbye is never easy. As I wrapped my arms around a friend my coffee fell to the ground, splashing my eyes. Was this a bad omen? I didn't think so because miraculously most of the coffee remained in the cup and was salvageable. It was delicious. However, my luck kept traveling on the same path and my flight was delayed. It was delayed because the child I witnessed vomiting in the airport lobby trash can continued to vomit while on the plane. Finally the family exited the plane and we were off. Again, not to worry, I was not going to miss a connection like many of my fellow passengers.
When Alexa asked me if I wanted the inflatable head pillow for the plane I hesitated because I didn't want to be responsible for something that wasn't mine for six weeks in a foreign country. I reluctantly agreed and upon exiting our first flight, the pillow was no where to be found! I am already losing things. As a notorious leaver of things (keys, nalgene bottle, sunglasses) I am curious to see how I can keep track of my belongings on this trip. Hopefully this trend stops here and I have gotten it out of my system. I was ready for a good night sleep and nothing that a little cable television couldn't fix. Man, when you go without cable for so long it sucks you right in.
Alas, that day is over and a new one has begun. The Montana posse is growing by the minute as we wait for our international flight in Seattle. Vancouver then Beijing. Time is 8:30 am locally and by 4:30 pm local time tomorrow I will be in Beijing. Going to the future? Perhaps!
The journey begins!
